As pick female from my first litter, gosh
what a whirlwind adventure her conformation days have been. As a puppy her list
of accomplishments go on and on, having completed her Canadian championship at
9.5 months old, winning 13 best puppy in groups and 3 all breed best puppy in
shows. Along the way she also went VV1 at the 2005 Calgary Sieger show and went
onto win Most Promising Female Puppy in Show under ADRK judge Gerhard Apel.
Cajen also won Best in Sweeps at the 2005 RCC National Specialty at the Caledon
Kennel Club show in Ontario.
In 2006, Cajen continued doing wonderfully in the show ring, winning multiple
breed wins, multiple group wins and placements, an Award of Merit at the
2006 Prairie Regional Specialty & winning Best Brace in specialty with her
sister Caper, and going V1 at the 2006 Calgary Sieger Show and winning Youth
Siegerin under ADRK judge Walter Werner. She also picked up her first Best of
Opposite in specialty show at the Ontario Regional specialty show. She and
Caper also won an all breed Best Brace in show working together!! 2006 was a
great year for Cajen and she finished the #2 Rottweiler in Canada in All Breed
wins and the #1 Rottweiler in Canada in Breed wins. Cajen and her handler Penny
Lewis accomplished such wonderful things together!!

2007 was equally amazing for Cajen she was shown in Canada for only 5 months and
ended up still as the #4 Rottweiler in Canada for All breed wins, #5 for Breed
wins. She won her first Best in Show, as well as two additional Best of
Opposite in Specialty wins ~~the first at the RCC National Specialty in
Chilliwack BC and the second at the Prairie Regional specialty in Saskatoon,
SK. She went down to the United States after May 2007 and started her quest for
her Am Championship on June 9, 2007. She became a new Am Champion on June 19
2007 after picking up 7 single points and 2 five point majors under the handling
of US handler Randy Benns. Cajen remained in the US being specialed for the
remainder of 2007 and we were thrilled to be invited to the Eukanuba
Invitational in Long Beach California where she won Best of Opposite as well.
As a result of that win Cajen was invited to the 2008 Crufts show which we
didn't attend, but the thrill of the invitation was amazing! We also received an
invitation for a Top 10 Award thru the American Rottweiler Club ~~ we later
found out that Cajen was the #10 Rottweiler Bitch in the US after a mere 6
months in the US. She did outstanding!!
In 2008 Cajen remained in the United states for an additional 6 months where she
won multiple BOS, multiple BOB and multiple group placements and group wins.
She was a travelling girl having been from Alaska to California and through to
Montana with Randy. After the Montana circuit in June 2008 we were thrilled to
finally have Cajen at home. We did a couple of Canadian shows with her and were
absolutely elated that she won the breed at the majority of shows where she was
shown, picked up multiple group wins and placements, won her second Best in
Show, finished her Canine Good Neighbor Test which completed the last
requirement for her Canadian Grand Champion title, and picked up her 4th BOSS
win at the 2008 Prairie Regional specialty in Winnipeg with her best friend and
handler Penny Lewis. Cajen then retired in September 2008 and was shortly
thereafter bred and became a new mom on December 1, 2008. What an incredibly
doting mom, I certainly couldn't have asked for better.
Cajen may make the occasional show appearance in 2009 depending upon how she
recovers fully from her litter, if only to show off her kids, however if she
never returns to the show ring she definitely doesn't have anything to prove to
us that she is incredibly special. We are definitely hoping for her to become a
mom again in the future. She is without a doubt the most loving, wonderful
rottweiler who makes friends at every dog show she has attended. She was dubbed
my 'attack licker' at an early age as her tongue would go just as fast as her
nubby tail. She thinks nothing of endearing herself to people at dog shows so
that she can lick them faster than they can pull away. She occasionally gets
away with a sneaky lick on a judge in the ring. Cajen's favorite dog show
ringside 'trick' is what we have dubbed her ZEN moment where she flips on her
back and lays there awaiting her turn patiently in the ring. Carrying a dust
cloth is a must at ringside.
